FAQ

How do I book studio time?

We’d love to learn more about your project and what services you’re interested in. Please fill out the form on our contact page to get in touch, or simply call 617-870-4948 for more info.

Do I need an engineer?

Yes, all sessions must be accompanied by a seasoned recording engineer. We can provide a staff engineer for you (as we do with most sessions) or you can bring your own. Please note that outside engineers assume responsibility for any damages to equipment and space due to misuse that may occur during your session. This would not include equipment malfunction or general wear and tear. Please make sure your engineer is aware of this policy.

Do I need a producer?

No, although we recommend it for most sessions! A producer can help you expand your ideas and capture you at your best. Mike Davidson produces most of the projects here, but you’re also welcome to bring your own.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just your talents! You are however welcome to bring any equipment you’d like. Please check our full list of gear and instruments here.

Do you have parking?

Yes! We recommend informing us in advance if you require a parking space during your session. We do have parking but spaces are limited. In the event you or members of your band need additional parking, there is plenty of visitor/non-meter parking nearby. Just ask us for more info.

What are you payment policies?

We take a 50%, non-refundable deposit at time of booking a session or project. Sessions may be rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance and your deposit will be applied to the rescheduled session. If 48 hours notice is not given and confirmed, the studio will not have enough time to fill the time slot you were occupying, so your deposit will be held to cover our loss of business. That being said, we’re always willing to work with our clients and resolve scheduling issues, so just keep us abreast of any conflicts that may come up for you after you’ve booked your session(s) with us.

Do you have keep an archive of my sessions?

We will keep an archive of your session for 6 months after we’ve provided you with your deliverable (be it a mix, master, etc), so if you need any changes down the foreseeable road, we can help you quickly. That being said, once our work has been delivered and approved, we are no longer responsible for managing and maintaining session files or masters. Most of our work is done in the digital realm where files can become corrupt overnight. Please reach out to us when your project is complete to obtain your own archive of the project.
